How to pair your mobile to the Hyundai i30

How to pair your Hyundai i30 with your mobile phone

Video Transcript

Hi, and welcome to JT Hughes Hyundai here in Shrewsbury. Here we have a Hyundai i30. We're going to show you how to pair your phone up to the car. So first of all, we'll pair my phone. So as you can see, it's an iPhone, although obviously you can pair many other makes to the vehicle. And again, you can check compatibility of your phone on the Hyundai website.

So first of all, we'll go into our settings, and turn on the Bluetooth. There we go. It will start to search for devices. Next, what we have to do is obviously turn the radio on on the car, turn the volume down, go into Setup, and then using the knob on the right-hand side, move that across to phone and press it in, and then it brings up to you menu. Pair phone, again. Press it in. Add a new Bluetooth device. Press Okay. So it's coming up i30, gives you the pass code there. As you can see, the phone has found the i30, so we'll highlight that. And it should ask me for a pass code, there we go, 1, 2, 3, 4 zeroes, press pair. There we go. That's coming up connected, and as you can see Robert's iPhone, pairing complete. So that's stage 1.

The next one, we can actually download your phone book contacts in that. So we go across to the phone button. Again, using that knob, go to phone book, press that in, download phone book, yes. There we go again. That will automatically do that now. It may take a couple of minutes depending on how many contacts you have. There we go. So download completed the phone book. And again, we can then go back to that menu, to History and it'll just download your recent call history. Again, that doesn't take long. All done.

So there we go. That's your phone paired up, and ready to go. Get back to radio, just press the radio button. Easy as that.

So once you've paired all your phone up and you downloaded your phone book and everything, if you're driving along with the radio on, if your phone rings, it'll come up who's calling you on the screen there. You press the green button to answer the phone. If you don't wish to answer the phone or to end the call, you press the red button. If you wish to call anyone, then use the Voice Recognition there, and you can call it just by saying the name of the person. And it will call it all through the phone system for you.
