What forms of payment does JT Hughes accept?

You can pay for your JT Hughes vehicle in a variety of ways.

We only accept Visa and Mastercard credit or debit cards for online purchases. Please note, for in-store car purchases, we have discontinued the acceptance of card payments

You can choose to part exchange your current vehicle, and the value of your current vehicle will be deducted from the cost of your JT Hughes vehicle.

JT Hughes can also help you apply for financing. Your application will be approved based on your status and our affordability checks.

You can also use your own finance provider if you prefer.

How does your process work?

What a great question! We show a 360-degree view of our cars online on our search page and offer delivery right to your driveway.

Once you've decided on a vehicle, we'll ask you to select your method of payment, including whether you'd like to part-exchange your current vehicle as a down payment.

Finally, you will decide whether you want your new car delivered or picked up from a JT Hughes dealership in Shrewsbury, Telford, or Newtown. You'll have 14 days after receiving your vehicle to decide if it's the right vehicle for you!

If you change your mind within 14 days, we'll accept it back and issue a full refund under the terms of our 14-day money-back guarantee.

What do I need for the car valuation calculator?

You’ll need the car vehicle registration number to get a valuation for your car. We’ll also ask questions about your car’s condition, its service history and mileage so we can give you a fair valuation.

Does my vehicle need an MOT certificate?

You can sell your car to us no matter its tax or MOT status. However, when our system produces an online valuation for you it assumes that your vehicle has a minimum of 3 months remaining on the MOT.

During the vehicle inspection, if we discover that the vehicle has a short (less than 3 months) or invalid MOT, this may negatively affect your final offer. This is because our vehicle inspector is unable to accurately gauge that the vehicle meets the minimum safety level required by law.

What can I expect during a physical car appraisal if I'm selling or part-exchanging my car to JT Hughes?

You will accompany one of our trained technicians to your car whilst they conduct an inspection of the vehicle. A short test drive will be undertaken which consists of our technician driving the vehicle for a few meters in both forward and reverse directions

After the inspection and test drive, we will offer you a price for your car.

The price may differ from your online valuation if we consider that its value is affected by any aspect of its history or condition, including any unusual features or customisation, which was not apparent to us when we gave the online valuation.

If you do decide to sell your car we arrange for the money to be paid into your bank account, complete some paperwork and complete the sale. Please ensure that you have made arrangements for your return journey.

My car doesn't have a full-service history. is that OK?

Yes, we buy cars that haven't got a full-service history, as long as you declare it at the valuation stage.
