New Mitsubishi Shogun Sport to Arrive in Spring 2018

2018 Mitsubishi Shogun Sport

Spring is the season of new beginnings - and we are excited to announce that we will be welcoming the new Mitsubishi Shogun Sport into our Mitsubishi Newtown and Telford showrooms early in 2018.

Hot on the heels of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross launch - which is slated for January 2018 - will be the unveiling of the next model which is sure to make its mark in the SUV market. The expertly engineered Mitsubishi Shogun Sport will mirror the off-road capabilities of the much loved Mitsubishi Shogun. It is a seven-seat vehicle with room for the whole family, and utilises an advanced drivetrain, as well as a lightweight 2.4-litre diesel engine, to make easy work of the toughest terrain.

The Shogun Sport’s impressive numbers include the 180hp it produces, along with a maximum torque of 430Nm at just 2,500rpm. This is augmented by a new eight-speed automatic transmission and its Super Select II all-wheel-drive system.

If you love nothing more than exploring the beautiful Shropshire and Mid Wales countryside, you will benefit from Shogun Sport features such as Hill Descent Control, Trailer Start Assist (TSA) and Hill Start Assist (HSA), as well as a specialised off-road mode, which is designed to suit varying terrain types.

Drivers will be able to get behind the wheel of two high specification versions from the launch date. Among the special touches in these models are keyless entry, push-button start, leather upholstery, the Mitsubishi Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA) system - which allows for assimilation with smartphones - and LED daytime running lights.

At first glance, the Shogun Sport is certainly set to make an impression. It will carry Mitsubishi’s distinctive ‘Dynamic Shield’ visual identity. Rugged styling and an imposing stance mean it looks every bit the dynamic off-roader.

But step inside the Shogun Sport, and you will be by no means ‘roughing it’. It offers a luxurious space with interior features combining luxury and style with versatility and practicality. If you are going to need a lot of space next year, the Shogun Sport’s 1,488 litres with the rear seat folded can be just the ticket.

Looking for that ‘something extra’? The top of the range Shogun Sport will boast heated front seats, as well as one of Mitsubishi’s latest safety innovations - Forward Collision Mitigation. FCM uses radar technology to snuff out imminent danger, sensing whether there is a risk of collision with the car in front. Mitsubishi will also be offering Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Multi-around Monitor System (MMS) – a camera system which provides you with a bird’s eye view around the vehicle.

We’ll let you know UK pricing and full specification details as soon as we have them, but you can register your interest in the forthcoming Shogun Sport now by calling in at your nearest JT Hughes Mitsubishi dealership in Telford or Newtown.
