The multi award-winning Kia e-Niro is proving to be a popular choice amongst consumers and fleets looking to go electric, according to the latest sales figures that show it was the best-selling EV in the UK in January and February this year.
Sales for the battery-electric e-Niro, which sits alongside the Soul EV in Kia’s electric line-up, amounted to 985 in January and a further 757 in February. Kia’s two electric car models combined accounted for almost one in five (19 per cent) of all battery electric vehicles sold in the UK last month.
No stranger to awards from the motoring press, the e-Niro has accrued an enviable array of trophies since its launch in 2018. Most recently, the e-Niro topped Telegraph.co.uk’s list of the 10 best electric cars to buy in 2021, as well as scoring the ‘Best small electric car for long distances’ at the What Car? Car of the Year Awards 2021.
Of the many standout features of the e-Niro, customers are undoubtedly drawn to its modern crossover styling and range of up to 282 miles per charge (up to 382 miles in a city environment) for the 64kWh-powered ‘3’ or ‘4+’ grade models. An additional ‘2’ grade is powered by a smaller 39kWh battery and is capable of up to 180 miles per charge.
The e-Niro comes generously equipped as standard with Android and Apple connectivity for example, as well as a host of driving safety technology including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection (FCA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with stop and go, Driver Attention Warning (DAW) and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS). The car and battery is also protected by Kia’s industry-leading 100,000 miles / seven-year warranty offering complete peace of mind.
Customers looking to go all-electric can benefit from the Kia Finance e-Plus programme that is available for both the e-Niro and Soul EV*. This programme additionally provides the first three services free of charge for customers on a Kia Finance agreement, while the Soul EV is also now available with 2.9 per cent APR, down from 4.9 per cent, making the 280-mile range electric car available for just £299 per month with a less than £8,000 customer deposit**.
Kia recently introduced KiaCharge to answer the common concern over access to public charging, offering single-app or RFID access to more than 15,000 charge points across the UK – including bp pulse and Pod Point public charging networks.
