Pricing Announced for new Civic Diesel

The new Honda Civic diesel has been hotly anticipated ahead of its launch by drivers and critics alike, and now we are excited to confirm pricing for the new model .

Upon its arrival at the JT Hughes showrooms in Shrewsbury, Telford and Newtown, the S model, entry-level Civic diesel will be available to drive away from £20,120 OTR, while a top of the range EX trim car featuring a new 9-speed gearbox will be priced at £26,575 OTR.

We ask customers to note that the manual version of the new Civic diesel is available this month (February), while the automatic is scheduled for launch in early summer 2018.

There is a whole range of trims available for the diesel version of the tenth generation Civic, which Autocar Magazine is “particularly fond of”. Mirroring the existing 1.0 VTEC Turbo petrol model, drivers can choose from S, SE, SR and EX trim. We can also reveal that a Tech Pack will be an optional extra, priced at £600, offering special features such as LED fog lights, LED headlights with washers, heated rear seats and wireless phone charging.

There are finance options available on the new Civic diesel, and on a Civic 1.6 i-DTEC SE Manual, drivers can take advantage of a three-year 5.9% APR contract starting at £249 per month.

Heralding the new Civic diesel’s grand arrival at JT Hughes showrooms this month, Group Sales & Marketing Director, Paul Tench at JT Hughes, said: “The full Honda Civic hatchback line-up is now available to customers at JT Hughes Honda. We fully expect this to build on the positive reception we’ve already received for the Honda Civic and Civic Type R. Despite the recent bad press regarding diesel, there’s still a large demand for it and it doesn’t make sense for Honda not to be in this market, hence the Civic diesel. “

Paul Tench continued: “The diesel 1.6 i-DTEC delivers athletic response and agile feeling for the driver, combined with low CO2 emissions and strong fuel economy; the perfect choice for any motorists that are on the road regularly. We urge customers to get their orders in as soon as possible.”

A jewel in the crown of the new Civic diesel, the revised 1.6 i-DTEC engine promises peak performance and efficiency; capable of producing 300 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm and 120 PS at 4,000 rpm. After undergoing a Real Driving Emission (RDE) procedure to validate NOx and particulate emission levels, the 1.6 i-DTEC engine offers lower emissions and efficiency improvements. There’s also a powertrain upgrade which introduces extra strong pistons which have been bolstered by ‘super plateau honed’, highly durable chromium-molybdebnum steel alloy bores. 

Inside the new Civic diesel, drivers can look forward to the entertainment perks of Mitsubishi’s touchscreen- and voice-controlled Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA) infotainment system, offering easy access to music, as well as phone functions such as calls and messages.
